It’s now easier than ever to report, and hopefully reduce, excessive paperwork. UFT members complain that paperwork is ever-increasing, including e-paperwork (Dropbox, Google Docs, online attendance). It has become a burden that oftentimes bears little student support and instead just takes away from planning and executing engaging lessons.
Although the 2014 UFT DOE agreement indicates the methods to reduce excessive paperwork is for the chapter leader to first speak to the principal, there are countless cases where the chapter leaders, or other members, have come under fire for doing so. With our method, UFT Solidarity becomes the middleman and protects the chapter leader, or member’s, identity.
Any school member can use this form below and UFT Solidarity will broker the discussion between the DOE and the UFT to reduce, or remove, this excessive paperwork.
NOTE: CONTACT INFORMATION WILL NOT BE SHARED WITH ANYONE EXCEPT THE UFT SOLIDARITY PAPERWORK COMMITTEE. NOT EVEN THE CHAPTER LEADER WILL BE TOLD WHO REPORTED THE CASES WHERE THE CHAPTER LEADER IS NOT THE ONE MAKING THE REPORT.
