What the Portelos PERB win means for every other union member

Union members win and lose cases all the time. From federal suits to grievances the courts and union offices are full of hearings. Sometimes members find themselves with a nice settlement.

But what if you don’t have to go there? What if, for the first time, in a long time, an abusive administrator would think twice before attacking a unionized subordinate. All because they do not want their names plastered in every school building and emailed to every employee. That right there is the key difference and connection to Portelos’ recent Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) win.
