The Board of Regents are expected to decide on the January regents soon. If they do what was done in June and offer waivers to anyone “intending to sit for the January regents”, and if your child has failed ANY previous exams, they will get a waiver. This may open the door to a regents diploma for students who successfully passed the regents class but failed the exam. If your child is in this scenario, talk to the school counselor about adding them to the list of students “intending to sit” for the relevant regents exam before the announcement is made.
